NOTE: Since piece is recycled silver, it is NOT stamped 925 Pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) live in just a few rugged and isolated mountainous areas of China where they feed almost exclusively on species of bamboo. Unfortunately, bamboo goes through a stage in its life cycle when it flowers and dies, leaving pandas without their usual food supply. It can take several years for stands of bamboo to replenish. During this time pandas are extremely vulnerable to starvation and disease. Bamboo die-offs coupled with habitat depletion have left pandas critically endangered. It has been estimated that only around 1,000 pandas are left in the wild.
